Express, Inc. (EXPR) Stock Tumbles on Sales Warning

Express, Inc. ( EXPR ), a clothing retailer, saw its stock drop on a poor outlook for its second quarter of 2016.

Express said that it expects comparable sales for the second quarter of 2016 to be down by mid to single digits . It's also expecting earnings per share to be between 15 cents and 19 cents, which is below analysts' estimate of 29 cents.

EXPR's first quarter for 2016 included earnings per share of 25 cents, which was below expectations of 27 cents per share. EPS from the year prior was 15 cents.

Revenue reported by Express for its first quarter of 2016 was $502.9 million. This doesn't meet the $521.1 million that analysts were expecting and is roughly the same as Q1 2015's revenue.

EXPR shares were down 11% as of Noon Wednesday.
