European Stock Markets Were Recovering

DAX recovered earlier losses and was slightly higher on the day. Spain's IBEX 35 was also in positive territory of late and Italy's MIB and France's CAC were off lows, in tandem with the FTSE 100, as oil prices moved up from earlier lows. The front end Nymex future was above US$46 per barrel again. Sentiment remains muted though amid mixed earnings reports and as investors are disappointed that the DAX didn't manage to hold the 10,000 mark this week. Deutsche Wohnen was posting strong gains after positive reports but media stocks were under pressure after Eutelsat Communications SA cut its profit forecast for this year.
