American depository receipts of European stocks were 1.0% higher at 126.96 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Thursday morning.
Gainers in Continental Europe were led by Talend ( TLND ), a provider of open source integration solutions, 6.0% higher, followed by Banco Santander ( SAN ) and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria ( BBVA ), 4.2% and 4.0% higher, respectively. voxelJet ( VJET ), a German three-dimensional printer manufacturer, was 2.4% higher.
In the UK, low-cost airline Ryanair ( RYAAY ) was 3.6% higher, followed by Royal Bank of Scotland, Barclays and Lloyds Banking Group, 2.4%, 2.1% and 2.1% higher, respectively.
Decliners in Continental Europe were led by Nabriva Therapeutics (NBRV), an Austria-based clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, 2.0% lower, followed by Trivago (TRVG), which operates an online hotel search platform, 0.8% lower and ASML - New York Shares (ASML), a Dutch developer of semiconductor equipment systems, 0.7% lower.
And, in the UK, Avadel (AVDL) , a pharmaceutical company, was 0.9% lower, followed by Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, down by 0.8% and Amarin (AMRN), a biopharmaceutical company, and Luxfer (LXFR), a materials technology company, both 0.6% lower.
