European ADRs Move Lower in Tuesday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.19% lower at 139.85 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Tuesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Biofrontera ( BFRA ), and biotech firm argenx ( ARGX ), which rose 5.6% and 2.8% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Forward Pharma ( FWP ), and communications services provider VEON Com ( VEON ), which climbed 1.4% and 1.3%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by geophysical equipment company CGG ( CGG ), which plunged 26.7%, followed by biopharmaceutical company Cellectis (CLLS), which dropped 2.9%. Telecommunications provider Telecom Italia (TI), and hotel booking site Trivago (TRVG) lost 2.6% and 2.2% respectively.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical firm Amarin (AMRN), and mining company Randgold Resources (GOLD), which increased 2.5% and 1.3% respectively. They were followed by cruise line operator Carnival (CUK), and mining company Rio Tinto (RIO), which were up 1.1% and 0.6%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical firm NuCana (NCNA), and gene therapy company Nightstar (NITE), which fell 4.9% and 5.1% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Avadel (AVDL), and biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which dropped 5% and 2.4%.
