American depository receipts of European stocks were trading 0.05% lower at 145.54 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Tuesday.
In continental Europe, the gainers were led by geophysical equipment maker CGG ( CGG ), and Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ), which rose 17% and 9% respectively. They were followed by Oasmia Pharmaceutical ( OASM ), and biotech firm argenx ( ARGX ), which were up 3.3% and 4.5%.
The decliners in continental Europe were led by Zealand Pharma ( ZEAL ), and Forward Pharma (FWP), which dropped 2% and 1.6% respectively. They were followed by oil and gas company Eni (E), and Deutsche Bank (DB), which were off 1.3% each.
In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by Midatech Pharma (MTP), and biopharmaceutical firm NuCana (NCNA), which surged 6.5% and 6.7% respectively. They were followed by cruise line operator Carnival (CUK), and telecommunications provider BT Group (BT), which rose 2% and 1.6%.
The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by electricity and gas utility National Grid (NGG), and biopharmaceutical comapny Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which fell 2.4% and 3.6% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), and pharmaceutical firm GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), which lost 1.9% and 1.4%.
