American Depository Receipts of European stocks were trading 0.48% lower at 138.03 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Thursday.
In continental Europe, the gainers were led by geophysical equipment company CGG ( CGG ), and 3D printer company voxeljet ( VJET ), which rose 3% and 2.4% respectively. They were followed by gene therapy company Cellectis ( CLLS ), and marketing firm Criteo ( CRTO ), which were up 1.9% and 1.7%.
The decliners in continental Europe were led by pharmaceutical company Oasmia Pharmaceutical ( OASM ), and biopharmaceutical firm Forward Pharma (FWP) which fell 3.1% and 1.5% respectively. They were followed by bank Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), and communications services provider VEON (VEON), which were off 1.3% and 0.9%.
In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies NuCana (NCNA), and GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH), which rose 3.9% and 3.1% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical firm Verona Pharma (VRNA), and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca (AZN), which climbed 3% and 2%.
The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by pharmaceutical company Avadel (AVDL), and construction equipment supplier CRH (CRH), which shed 4.1% and 2.1% respectively. They were followed by communications group WPP (WPP), and pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), which dropped 1.1% and 0.4%.
