American depository receipts of European stocks were trading 0.32% lower at 145.45 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Monday.
In continental Europe, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Oasmia Pharmaceutical ( OASM ), and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ), which rose 7.7% and 4.6% respectively. They were followed by biotech firms argenx ( ARGX ), and ERYTECH Pharma ( ERYP ), which were up 5.0% and 2.3%.
The decliners in continental Europe were led by RELX NV ( RENX ), a provider of information and analytics, and pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma (ASND), which fell 1.5% and 1.6% respectively. Marketing firm Criteo (CRTO), and medical equipment maker Edap (EDAP) were down 1.4% and 1.1%.
In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical firms Midatech Pharma (MTP), and NuCana (NCNA), which rose 5.7% and 5.4% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), and Motif Bio (MTFB), which were up 3.1% and 2.4%
The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biotech firm Shire (SHPG), and pharmaceutical company Avadel (AVDL), which lost 4.9 and 3.7% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical companies GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH), and Amarin (AMRN), which shed 2.0% and 2.3%.
