European ADRs Move Lower in Monday Trading

American depository receipts of European stocks were trading 0.79% lower to 121.61 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Monday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical companies Forward Pharma ( FWP ), and Nabriva Therapeutics ( NBRV ), which rose 4.4%, and 3.8% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company STMicroelectronics ( STM ), up 2.9%, and agribusiness Syngenta ( SYT ), up 1.2%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by health care company Fresenius Medical Care ( FMS ), and food company Marine Harvest (MHG), which fell 6.6% and 4% respecitvely. They were followed by CGG (CGG), and Aegon (AEG), which dropped 2.5% each.

In the U.K. and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical firm Amarin (AMRN), and GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH), which develops cannabinoid prescription medicines, were up 3.3% and 0.9% respectively. They were followed by tobacco company British American Tobacco (BTI), up 0.7%, and hospitality company InterContinental Hotels (IHG), higher 0.6%.

The decliners in the U.K. and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical firm Midatech Pharma (MTP), and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), which shed 4.9% and 3.5% respectively. They were followed by Lloyds Banking Group (LYG), down 2.5%, and telecommunications company Vodafone Group (VOD), off 2.4%.
