European ADRs Move Higher in Tuesday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.59% higher at 124.27 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Tuesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by medical equipment company Edap ( EDAP ) and 3D printer company Materialise ( MTLS ), which rose 3.5% and 3% respectively. They were followed by electronics company Philips Electronics ( PHG ) and 3D printer maker voxeljet ( VJET ), which were up 3% and 2.9%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by online dating site operator Spark Networks ( LOV ) and software firm SAP (SAP), which fell 4.1% and 3.2% respectively. They were followed by semiconductor company STMicroelectronics (STM), which was off 1.2%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotech firm Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL) and biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which climbed 6.1% and 4.9% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Avadel (AVDL) and mining company Rio Tinto (RIO), which rose 4.4% and 3.4%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma (VRNA) and gene therapy company Nightstar (NITE), which lost 3.6% and 1.5% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH) and insurance firm Prudential (PUK), which were off 1.2% and 0.9%.
