European ADRs Move Higher in Tuesday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.30% higher at 138.83 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Tuesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Oasmia Pharmaceutical ( OASM ), which surged 12.3%, followed by telecommunications operator Telecom Italia ( TI ), and 3D printer company Materialise ( MTLS ), which were up 5.7% and 4.4%. Geophysical equipment company CGG ( CGG ) rose 4.3%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by communications services provider VEON Com ( VEON ), and pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma (ASND), which lost 1.9% and 1.5% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Sanofi (SNY), and hotel booking site Trivago (TRVG), which dropped 0.9% and 0.7%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by gene therapy company Nightstar (NITE), which rose 5.6%, followed by mining companies Randgold Resources (GOLD), and BHP Billiton (BBL), which were up 2.3% each. Education and media company Pearson (PSO) increased 2.2%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Midatech Pharma (MTP), and Amarin (AMRN), which lost 6.0% and 1.9% respectively. They were followed by alcoholic beverage producer Diageo (DEO), and Lloyds Banking Group (LYG), which were down 0.6% and 0.5%.
