American depository receipts of European stocks are up 0.71% to 119.73 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Thursday.
In continental Europe, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical companies Oasmia Pharmaceutical ( OASM ), and Flamel Technologies ( FLML ), which rose 5.4% and 3.4% respectively. They were followed by CGG ( CGG ), a manufacturer of geophysical equipment, up 2.6%, and telecommunications operator Orange ( ORAN ), higher 2.4%.
The decliners in continental Europe were led by financial services firm Credit Suisse ( CS ), and 3D-printer manufacturer Materialise (MTLS), which fell 1.1% and 1% respectively. They were followed by steel and mining company ArcelorMittal (MT), down 0.5%, and software company Talend (TLND), off 0.4%.
In the U.K. and Ireland, the gainers were led by gold mining firm Randgold Resources (GOLD), and biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP), which increased 2.9% and 2.2% respectively. They were followed by telecommunications services provider BT Group (BT), and construction materials supplier CRH (CRH), each of which were up 1.6%.
The decliners in the U.K. and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical firm Midatech Pharma (MTP), and Lloyds Banking Group (LYG), which dropped 1.5% and 0.7% respectively. GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH), a maker of cannabinoid prescription medicines, and Barclays Bank (BCS) were off 0.5% each.
