European ADRs Move Higher in Monday Trading

American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 0.42% higher at 137.87 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Monday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Forward Pharma ( FWP ), and 3D printer maker voxeljet ( VJET ), which rose 9.5% and 7.3% respectively. They were followed by geophysical equipment company CGG ( CGG ), and pharmaceutical company Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ), which were up 4.3% and 3.1%.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by biotech firm argenx ( ARGX ), and pharmaceutical company Oasmia Pharmaceutical (OASM), which declined 2.4% and 2.3% respectively. Medical equipment manufacturer Edap (EDAP) declined 5.3% and bank Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) was down 1.0%.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by gene therapy company Nightstar (NITE), and biopharmaceutical firm Verona Pharma (VRNA), which climbed 7.0% and 5.3% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics (AKTX), and pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca (AZN), which rose 5.0% and 2.3%.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by pharmaceutical firm Avadel (AVDL), and Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which were down 2.6% and 1.1% respectively. They were followed by airplane lessor Fly Leasing (FLY), and bank HSBC (HSBC), which were down 1.3% and 0.4%.
