European ADRs Inch Higher as Telecoms, Oil Stocks Gain

American depository receipts of European stocks were trading 0.60% higher at 131.53 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Thursday.

In Continental Europe, 3D printing company Materialise ( MTLS ) led decliners by slumping 4.1%, followed by Italian furniture maker Natuzzi ( NTZ ) down 3.9% and semiconductor equipment provider Aixtron ( AIXG ) off 1.7%.

Decliners in the U.K. were led by biopharmaceutical firm Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) falling 3.1%, followed by engineering and consultancy firm Amec Foster Wheeler ( AMFW ) sliding 1.2% and consumer products maker Unilever (UL) down 0.6%.

Gainers in Continental Europe were led by medical device company Edap (EDAP) up 6.6%, followed by voxeljet (VJET), a provider of 3D printers, up 4.6% and engineering and clean technology firm Abengoa (ABGB) up 4.2%.

In the U.K., drugmaker AstraZeneca (AZN) led gainers with a 2.7% increase, followed by development-stage biopharmaceutical firm Celsus Therapeutics (CLTX) up 2.5% and hotel operator InterContinental Hotels (IHG) gaining 2.2%.
