European ADRs Edge Lower in Wednesday Trading

American depository receipts of European stocks edged 0.02% lower to 123.22 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Wednesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Oasmia Pharmaceutical ( OASM ), which surged 7.3%, followed by radiopharmaceutical company Advanced Accelerator Applications ( AAAP ), which climbed 3.7%. Bank Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria ( BBVA ) and specialty pharmaceutical company Flamel Technologies ( FLML ) rose 2.7% each.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by software vendor Talend ( TLND ) and semiconductor company STMicroelectronic (STM), which dropped 3.1% and 1.9% respectively. They were followed by Logitech (LOGI), a provider of computer accessories, and Italian oil and gas company Eni (E), which fell 1.5% and 1.2% respectively.

In the U.K. and Ireland, the gainers were led by biotechnology company Trinity Biotech (TRIB), and public relations firm WPP (WPPGY), which surged 7.3% and 4.9% respectively. They were followed by Lloyds Banking Group (LYG) and GW Pharmaceuticals (GWPH), which rose 3.6% and 1.9% each.

The decliners in the U.K. and Ireland were led by gold mining company Randgold Resources (GOLD), which fell 3.8%, followed by oil services firm Amec Foster Wheeler (AMFW), which dropped 1.9%. Insurance company Prudential (PUK) and CRH (CRH), a manufacturer of construction materials, moved 1.2% and 1.1% lower respectively.
