American depository receipts of European stocks were 1.1% lower at 121.78 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Monday morning.
Decliners in Continental Europe were led by Nabriva Therapeutics ( NBRV ), an Austria-based clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, 4.7% lower, followed by Ascendis Pharma ( ASND ), a Danish clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, down by 4.1% and VimpelCom - Com ( VIP ), a Dutch provider of telecommunications services, and Telecom Italia ( TI ), an Italian telecommunications company, both 3.0% lower.
In the UK, Amec Foster Wheeler ( AMFW ), a global engineering conglomerate, was 3.5% lower, followed by Amarin (AMRN), a biopharmaceutical company, and Barclays Bank (BCS), 3.4% and 3.1% lower, respectively.
Gainers in Continental Europe were led by Oasmia Pharmaceutical (OASM), a Sweden-based pharmaceutical company, 4.0% higher, followed by voxeljet (VJET), a German three-dimensional printer manufacturer, 1.9% higher and Trivago (TRVG), an online hotel search platform, up by 0.6%. RELX (RENX), a provider of information and analytics, was 0.2% higher.
And, in the UK, Motif Bio Plc - Warrant (MTFBW), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, was 2.1% higher, followed by telecommunications company Vodafone Group (VOD), up by 1.2% and gold mining major Randgold Resources (GOLD), 0.7% higher. Midatech Pharma (MTP), an early-stage biopharmaceutical company, was 0.6% higher.
