European ADRs Edge Lower as Miners Retreat

American depository receipts of European stocks were trading 0.5% lower at 126.73 on the Bank of New York Mellon Europe ADR Index on Thursday morning.

Decliners in Continental Europe were led by VimpelCom - Com ( VIP ), a Dutch provider of telecommunications services, 4.7% lower, followed by Statoil ( STO ), an oil and gas producer, down by 2.6% and Luxembourg steelmaker ArcelorMittal ( MT ), trading 2.1% lower.

In the UK, aircraft leasing company Fly Leasing ( FLY ) was 4.7% lower, followed by miners Rio Tinto ( RIO ) and BHP Billiton (BBL), 2.5% and 2.1% lower, respectively.

Gainers in Continental Europe were led by three-dimensional printer manufacturer voxeljet (VJET), 4.4% higher, followed by Sequans Communications (SQNS), a French developer of chipset solutions, trading 1.6% higher, and Aegon - New York Shares (AEG), a Dutch life insurance company, up by 1.5%.

And, in the UK, Trinity Biotech (TRIB), a manufacturer of medical diagnostic products, rose by 8.3% and Luxfer (LXFR), a materials technology company, was 4.5% higher.
