Euro zone Sentix investor confidence deteriorates to -17.3 in April

Investing.com - r confidence in the euro zone for April deteriorated to the lowest level in five months, with both the economic situation and the expectations index contributing to losses, data showed on Monday.

In a report, market research group, Sentix said its index of investor confidence fell to minus 17.3 in April from a reading of minus 10.6 in March.

Analysts had expected the index to worsen to minus 13.1 this month.

On the index, a level above 0.0 indicates optimism, below indicates pessimism.

Following the release of the data, the euro was little changed against the U.S. dollar, with EUR/USD easing up 0.04% to trade at 1.3009.

Meanwhile, European stock markets remained higher. The EURO STOXX 50 rose 0.6%, France's CAC 40 added 0.6%, Germany's DAX advanced 0.4%, while London's FTSE 100 gained 0.4%.
