Ethiopian Airlines increased its operating revenue in dollar terms by 17% in the year to the end of June, as a rise in passenger numbers helped to offset the impact of a surge in fuel costs, the carrier told Reuters on Friday.

NAIROBI, Sept 13 (Reuters) - Ethiopian Airlines ETHA.UL increased its operating revenue in dollar terms by 17% in the year to the end of June, as a rise in passenger numbers helped to offset the impact of a surge in fuel costs, the carrier told Reuters on Friday.

The airline, which is Africa's biggest, flew 12.1 million passengers during the period, up 14%, helping to cushion an increase in fuel costs of about a quarter, it said.
