Energy Sector Update for 10/02/2015: USO, UNG, EOX

Energy shares were mainly lower in pre-market trade Friday as crude oil futures were lower.

Light, sweet crude oil for November delivery was up 0.4% at $45.17 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was down 0.2% at $1.39 per gallon while natural gas was down 1.1% at $2.42 British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was down 0.3% at $14.54 while the United States NaturalGas ETF ( UNG ) was down 0.6% at $11.10.

In other energy news, Emerald Oil ( EOX ) said Friday it has closed its previously announced transaction with Koch Exploration Company for total consideration of approximately $17.4 million, including normal and customary closing adjustments.

Shares in Emerald Oil were unchanged at $1.95 pre-bell. Over the past 52 weeks, the company has traded between $1.37 and $117.20.
