Energy Sector Update for 09/30/2015: USO, UNG, CJES

Energy shares were mixed in pre-market trade Wednesday as crude oil futures were lower.

Light, sweet crude oil for November delivery was down 0.3% at $44.97 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was 0.2% at $1.39 per gallon while natural gas was up 0.9% at $2.45 British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was down 0.5% at $14.54 while the United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was down 1.0% at $11.79.

In other energy news, C&J Energy Services ( CJES ), an oilfield services company, said it expects Q3 results to be lower than guidance based on lower-than-anticipated activity and pricing levels due to weakness in commodity prices, with the most significant decline in the company's hydraulic fracturing operations.

Shares in the company were unchanged at $4.26 pre-bell. Over the past 52 weeks, the company has traded between $2.97 and $30.81.
