Energy shares were steady in pre-market trade Wednesday. The Energy Information Administration will release official data at 10:30 am EDT.

Light, sweet crude oil for September delivery was up 0.1% at $69.30 per barrel, while natural gas was up fractionally at $2.90 per million Btu.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was down 0.9% at $14.22 while the United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was up 0.4% at $23.84.

Expected movers:

- Vedanta ( VEDL ): set to acquire as many as 40 oil blocks in Indian acreage auction

- Parsley Energy ( PE ): Q2 EPS matches Street view, revenue beats
