Energy shares were flat to higher in pre-market trading Friday. At 1 pm is the Baker-Hughes domestic oil-and-gas rig count.

Light, sweet crude oil for April delivery was up 0.1% at $61.33 per barrel, while natural gas was down fractionally at $2.68 per million Btu.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was up 0.2% at $12.37 while the United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) down 0.6% at $22.27.

- Energy XXI ( EXXI ): swings to Q4 loss, revenue declines YoY

- Energy Transfer Partners ( ETP ): says FERC policy revisions likely won't impact its earnings & cash flow

- Summit Midstream Partners ( SMLP ): says not adversely affected by FERC tax rule change

- Enbridge (ENB): doesn't see material impact on its financial forecasts from FERC policy changes

- Enbridge Energy (EEP): sees $100 million reduction in FY18 revenues due to FERC policy change on income tax
