Energy shares were lower in pre-market trading Wednesday. The much-watched EIA domestic oil inventories bulletin is at 10:30 am.

Light, sweet crude oil for April delivery was down 0.3% at $62.28 per barrel, while natural gas was up fractionally at $2.78 per million Btu.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was down 0.2% at $12.55 while the United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was up 0.8% at $23.13.

- TransGlobe Energy ( TGA ): logs narrower Q4 loss on revenue growth; provides 2018 production outlook

- Obsidian Energy ( OBE ): reports 10% increase in Q4 production; reaffirms FY18 production guidance

- Foresight Energy ( FELP ): reports narrower Q4 losses on revenue gain
