Energy Sector Update for 02/13/2019: CVE, BRN, XOM, CVX, COP, SLB, OXY

Energy stocks were mixed in pre-market trading Wednesday. West Texas Intermediate crude oil for March delivery was up by $0.54 to $53.64 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. The global benchmark Brent crude April contract gained $0.80 to $63.22 per barrel and March natural gas futures were 8 cents lower at $2.61 per 1 million BTU.

Early movers include:

(-) Cenovus Energy ( CVE ), which was down more than 3% as it posted Q4 net loss of $1.36 per share, wider than the estimated net loss of $0.20 from analysts polled by Capital IQ.

(-) Barnwell Industries ( BRN ) was declining by more than 4% after i t report ed a Q4 net loss of $0.56 per share, compared to a net loss of $0.12 per share in the prior-year period.
