Top Energy Stocks:
Energy stocks were flat to lower in Friday's pre-market trade. West Texas Intermediate crude oil for March delivery was up by $0.25 to $52.89 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. The global benchmark Brent crude April contract gained $0.63 to $62.26 per barrel and March natural gas futures were 4 cents higher at $2.59 per 1 million BTU.
Stocks moving on news include:
(+) Phillips 66 ( PSX ), which was 4% higher after the company reported Q4 earnings and revenue that topped analysts' expectations. The company said adjusted earnings were $4.87 per share, compared with the prior-year period's $1.07 per share.
(+) Buckeye Partners ( BPL ) was up over 3% as it booked Q4 net income of $3.13 per diluted unit compared with $0.85 per unit in the year-ago period.
(-) Sasol ( SSL ) was declining by more than 5% after saying a chemicals project in Lake Charles, La., could be delayed to as late as August after capital costs rose to as much as $11.8 billion.
