Energy shares were mainly unchanged in pre-market trade on Friday as crude oil futures oscillated between slight gains and losses.
Light, sweet crude oil for March delivery was up 0.1% at $31.74 per barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil was +0.1% higher at $0.85 per gallon while natural gas was up 4.2% at $1.68 British thermal units.
In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was up 0.1% at $0.85 while the United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was 2.8% higher at $7.48.
And, in other energy news, Wisconsin Energy ( WEC ) shares were downgraded to hold from buy by Deutsche Bank Securities, with a price target set at $56 a share on Friday.
Shares in the company were unchanged at $56.40 pre-bell. The company has traded between $44.93 and $57.17 over the past 52 weeks.
