Energy shares were higher in pre-market trading Thursday. The EIA natural gas report is at 10:30 am.

Light, sweet crude oil for February delivery was up 0.4% at $63.98 per barrel, while natural gas was up fractionally at $2.95 per million Btu.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) was up 0.6% at $12.75 while the United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) was up 2.7% at $23.59.
