EnCana Edges Higher on Acquisition of Stake in Apache, EOG's LNG Export
EnCana Corporation (ECA.TO) went up by more than 1% to $33.54 with more than 1.8 million shares traded on Friday morning after reportedly saying "yes" to the acquisition of 30% interest in the planned Kitimat LNG export terminal and the associated natural gas pipeline, Pacific Trail Pipelines, from Apache Corp and EOG Resources for an undisclosed amount.
Apache, EOG, Encana plan to build an LNG export terminal in Kitimat, British Columbia, which would link gas from the province's northeast to international markets.
