East West Petroleum Provides Operational Update in California

East West Petroleum Corp. (EW.V) announced that its Pass Exploration 77-20 exploration well at the company's Tejon Extension prospect in the San Joaquin Basin of California, has reached a planned TD of 7,550 feet.

A full suite of electric logs has been run, and the company and its operating partner North American Oil and Gas have elected to set 5 1/2 in casing. Testing is expected to commence in early January.

East West, through its U.S. subsidiary, Avere Energy Corp., holds a 25% participation interest in the Tejon Extension prospect, with North American Oil and Gas holding a 75% interest.

EW shares were down four cents at $0.43 on volume of 122,000.
