In early trading on Friday, shares of American Express ( AXP ) topped the list of the day's best performing Dow Jones Industrial Average components, trading up 1.4%. Year to date, American Express has lost about 3.6% of its value.
And the worst performing Dow component thus far on the day is United Technologies ( UTX ), trading down 0.7%. United Technologies is showing a gain of 0.6% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Chevron Corporation ( CVX ), trading down 0.5%, and Home Depot ( HD ), trading up 1.1% on the day.
