In early trading on Wednesday, shares of American Express ( AXP ) topped the list of the day's best performing Dow Jones Industrial Average components, trading up 0.5%. Year to date, American Express has lost about 15.9% of its value.
And the worst performing Dow component thus far on the day is Microsoft ( MSFT ), trading down 1.5%. Microsoft is showing a gain of 0.9% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Apple ( AAPL ), trading down 1.2%, and Chevron Corporation ( CVX ), trading up 0.4% on the day.
