In early trading on Wednesday, shares of Chevron Corporation ( CVX ) topped the list of the day's best performing Dow Jones Industrial Average components, trading up 0.5%. Year to date, Chevron Corporation has lost about 8.7% of its value.
And the worst performing Dow component thus far on the day is Caterpillar ( CAT ), trading down 2.3%. Caterpillar is lower by about 4.6% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Exxon Mobil ( XOM ), trading down 2.0%, and International Business Machines ( IBM ), trading up 0.5% on the day.
