In early trading on Wednesday, shares of Merck ( MRK ) topped the list of the day's best performing Dow Jones Industrial Average components, trading up 0.5%. Year to date, Merck registers a 17.4% gain.
And the worst performing Dow component thus far on the day is Boeing ( BA ), trading down 2.3%. Boeing is lower by about 1.7% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Nike ( NKE ), trading down 1.2%, and Cisco Systems ( CSCO ), trading up 0.4% on the day.
