Dow Futures Gain 35 Points for No Good Reason

6:44 a.m. The world might be a mess, but Dow Jones Industrial Average doesn't seem to care.

Brexit is getting more chaotic by the day after Parliament voted against the current deal ; some U.S. government workers were ordered back to work without pay as the shutdown continued with no end in sight ; and China continues to stimulate its struggling economy as economists wonder if it will work this time.

Still, Dow futures have gained 35 points, or 0.2%, while S&P 500 futures have ticked up 0.1%, and Nasdaq Composite futures were unchanged.

The question now: How much longer can that last?
