Dow Drops 79 Points and Oil Is the New Fear

6:23 a.m. A bad week ended with a good day. Too bad the good times couldn't last.

S&P 500 futures have fallen 0.4%, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures have declined 79 points, or 0.3%. Nasdaq Composite futures have dropped 0.7%.

It seems like every day adds a new worry. This morning, it is threats from Saudi Arabia to drive up the price of oil if the U.S. decides to punish it for the disappearance-and presumed death -of dissident Jamal Khashoggi. Saudi Arabia's King Salman is reported to have ordered a probe into the case. WTI crude oil, the U.S. benchmark has gained 0.6% to $71.76.

Sears Holdings (SHLD), meanwhile, filed for bankruptcy, in a move that is not a surprise, but still stunning for a company that was once among the premier retailers in the U.S.
