Consumer shares were mostly flat ahead of the opening bell Tuesday.
In consumer stocks news, Hyatt Hotels ( H ) said it has identified malware on computers that operate payment processing for Hyatt-managed locations. The hotel company has launched an investigation and has engaged third-party cyber security experts. Hyatt says it has taken steps to strengthen the security of its systems, and "customers can feel confident using payment cards at Hyatt hotels worldwide." Shares clsoed at $49.36 with a 52-week range of $45.71 - $61.99.
Dreamworks Animation SKG ( DWA ) said late Wednesday in a SEC filing it extended its licensing pact with Steven Spielberg until the earlier of the initial release date of the thirtieth motion picture produced (or co-produced), acquired, distributed or released by or for Holding Company, or January 31, 2016. Shares closed at $26.75, with a 52-week range of $17.02 - $29.75.
And Cal-Maine Foods ( CALM ) reported Q2 sales of $546 million, up from $378.6 million in the year ago quarter, but below the analyst consensus of $555 million on Capital IQ. Earnings were $2.26 per share, up from $0.76 per share a year ago and shy of the Street view of $2.40 per share, if comparable. Shares closed at $49.59, with a 52-week range of $34.03 - $63.25.
