Consumer shares were mixed ahead of the opening bell on Tuesday.

In consumer stocks news, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings ( NCLH ), a cruise ship operator, priced the sale of 10.3 million common shares at $57.65 a share, a discount of about 1.5% to Monday's closing price.

Shares in the company were 3.2% lower at $57.55 pre-bell. The company has traded between $42.55 and $64.27 over the past 52 weeks.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide ( HOT ) said Tuesday that it has appointed its current chief financial officer Thomas B. Mangas to the role of chief executive officer, effective December 31, replacing Adam Aron, who will be leaving at year end to become the chief executive officer and president of AMC Entertainment Holdings ( AMC ).

Shares in the company were flat at $67.63 pre-bell. This is within the lower band of the stock's 52 week trading range between $63.99 and $87.99.

And Clearwater Paper ( CLW ), a producer of tissue and paperboard products, said Tuesday it has authorized the repurchase of up to $100 million of the company's common stock, following the completion of $100 million program issued in December 2014.

Shares in the company were unchanged at $43.03 pre-bell. This is within the lower band of the stock's 52 week trading range between $42.63 and $75.69.
