Top Consumer Stocks
Consumer stocks were broadly higher, with shares of consumer staples companies in the S&P 500 gaining just 0.1% while shares of consumer discretionary firms in the S&P 500 were jumping nearly 0.7% increase.
In company news, JAKKS Pacific ( JAKK ) was higher Friday afternoon, holding a nearly 6% advance to a session high of $3.80 a share after the multi-brand toy company filed a registration statement for nearly 9.2 million shares held by Oasis Investments II Master Fund Ltd.
In early November, Oasis participated in a $21.55 million exchange of the company's 4.25% convertible senior notes for an equal number of 4.875% convertible senior notes due November 2020. Under certain circumstances, those notes are convertible into more than 1.06 million shares of JAKKS Pacific common stock.
