Commodities Mixed Ahead of Equities Market Open; Gold Gains, Crude Wanes

Commodities were mixed ahead of the open of U.S. equities markets with gold higher as crude futures lost ground.

Crude-oil for September delivery was down by $0.19 to $82.36 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

In other energy futures, heating oil was down $0.01 to $2.19 a gallon while natural gas rose $0.05, to $4.69 per million British thermal units.

Meanwhile, gold futures rose ahead of the market open.

Gold for December delivery rose $10.40 to $1,195 an ounce. In other metal futures, silver fell $0.13 to $18.55 a troy ounce while copper rose $0.01 to $3.35 a pound.
