This week's agenda is very quiet, with few events until Thursday.

The only item anywhere today occurs this evening when China reports inflation numbers. Lending data follows shortly thereafter.

Nothing is scheduled for tomorrow except quarterly results from RadioShack and Ulta Salon.

Wednesday features weekly numbers on mortgage loans and crude-oil inventories. H&R Block releases earnings as well.

Thursday is the busiest session, with monthly retail sales and weekly jobless claims. There are also industrial-production reports in Europe and India, followed by the Bank of Japan's monetary announcement in the evening.

In addition, the World Cup begins in Brazil on Thursday, which could focus attention on the country and emerging markets in general. Lululemon and Finisar announce results.

The week concludes with Chinese retail sales and industrial production early Friday morning, followed by the producer-price index and consumer sentiment.
