Canadian Stocks Move Higher; Sectors Mixed; Health Care Drives Gains

The TSX is higher mid-day bouncing off of support near the 50-day moving average at 15,102 and currently trading higher at 15,148. Sectors are mixed but the broader market is being led higher by a 1.9% increase in Health Care.

The energy sector has rallied 0.9%, led by Talisman Energy. Consumer discretionary has jumped 1.4%, including a 4.6% pop in auto-parts maker Magna International after reporting profit that beat estimates.

The materials index has firmed 0.7%, including a 2.5% rally in Barrick Gold, but financials remain on the back-foot, down 0.5%. Information technology has retreated 0.6%.
