10-year GoC yields were up 0.1 bp at 2.266% in opening trade, 2-year yields were up 0.4 bp at 1.827%. The 10-year yield was trailing Treasury yields, which were up 0.6 bp, while in Europe Bunds and Gilts were trading mixed, after long yields mostly moved higher in Asia overnight, amid a rally on stock markets. Confidence in the strength of the global economy improved after robust U.S. labour market data last Friday and U.S. stock futures were moving higher, as European stock markets remained underpinned. The S&P/TSX 60 future was up 0.033% as of 10:47 GMT. The data and events calendar shifts to the slow lane this week after the busy docket seen last week. But BoC Governor Poloz is due to speak tomorrow.
