Canada Market Outlook
GoCs were little changed, with the 10-year yield at 1.650% and the 2-year yield at 0.621%. That tracks Treasuries, which were also unchanged in light trading. Yields on European sovereigns were mostly lower while yields on Asian bonds were mixed to higher. Global equities were also mixed globally, as Europe sees declines, U.S. Dow futures imply an opening in positive territory while Asian shares were mostly lower, including a 1% drop in China's Shanghai composite. Crude oil is back at US$41 per bbl, according to NYMEX, after touching $41.50 overnight. The domestic calendar is again empty, keeping the focus on U.S. and events further abroad. Wholesale shipments (Thursday), retail sales (Friday) and CPI (Friday) fill out the back-end of the week however.
