Germany's central bank gov in unsurprising comments to FAZ

  • current budget rules must be strengthened

Weidmann has long been a supporter of greater reforms, a mantra rolled out by many central bankers including those at the ECB, but would a Eurozone finance ministry be at all workable? I doubt it.

Meanwhile the euro is finding a few buyers after playing second fiddle to the yen as the session welcomes our friends from across the pond. All very fragile still though.
