Booking Holdings Holds Pattern of Adding to Earnings-Driven After-Hours Gains and Declines in Follow-on Regular Session

Booking Holdings ( BKNG ), formerly The Priceline Group (PCLN), is due with its Q2 results in the after-hours today, and analysts polled by Capital IQ expect the company to report a profit of $17.36 per share on revenue of $3.45 billion.

BKNG demonstrates an aggressive tendency to widen its next day share movement following an extended-hours earnings release, doing so for 38 of the past 58 quarters, or 66% of the time.

Looking deeper into the performance data, longs should be aware that BKNG has seen a positive extended-hours earnings-driven trade in 33 of the 58 quarters we've tracked, and in 22 of those upside extended-hours moves the stock has followed that trade with a more aggressive positive run in the next day's regular session, or 67% of the time.
