Nasdaq was in attendance at the Consensus 2018 conference sponsored by CoinDesk. The three-day technology summit is in its 4th year and attracted over 8,000 attendees to New York City. The diverse group of representatives at the conference came from blockchain and cryptocurrency startups, investment firms, financial institutions, government and academy.
Nasdaq's Global Markets Reporter, Jill Malandrino interviewed many of the innovative entrepreneurs working on the latest applications, platforms and solutions that utilize blockchain, machine intelligence and cryptocurrency.

In this interview with Duane Jacobsen of Blocksafe Alliance, Jacobsen explains his organization's blockchain solution that provides defense and firearm safety. Blocksafe is providing a decentralized application to owners of mobile devices which is aimed at keeping them safe and aware in potential active gun shooting situations.

Colin Pape of Presearch discusses their solution. Presearch offers a decentralized search engine built on blockchain technology. It is essentially a community driven search engine that is verified and transparent via blockchain. The company is looking to level the playing field for search engine indexing through decentralization of Internet search. They are also utilizing machine learning to detect fraud within their system.

Anthony Habayeb of BotChain describes how his company is working with blockchain to decentralize bot registration. BotChain is creating a registry for Artificial Intelligence bots to identify themselves. It provides a level of security and verification of AI.

ZenCash's Rob Viglione describes their privacy coins that are designed to provide private and secure transactions within the cryptocurrency space. ZenCash has developed the ability for bitcoin owners to control their user data and financial transactions and so that they aren't stolen or unveiled during or after a transaction.
