Berkshire Hathaway Q2 Results Improve Vs Yr-Ago

Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A, BRK.B), the operating business and insurance conglomerate run by investor Warren Buffett, Saturday reported Q2 earnings and revenue that improved year-over-year.

Berkshire Hathaway reported Q2 earnings per A share of $7,301, up from $2,592 a year earlier. Four analysts polled by Capital IQ expected adjusted EPS of $3,387.37 which may not compare.

The company reported Q2 revenues of $62.20 billion, up from $57.26 billion a year earlier, and above a single forecast for $61.94 billion.

Berkshire Hathaway reported it owned $47.2 billion of Apple shares ( AAPL ) at end of June.

The company also said it may buy back shares when determined appropriate by Warren Buffett.
