It's simple. It's a consistent way of life. Everyday you are being bombarded to buy something at highway robbery prices. You know it. I know it.
Recently I was told to cut down my sodium intake. I went to the grocery store and decided to buy items with no or low sodium. One of the items we normally buy is Libby's canned green beans. Many times it goes on sale as low as .44 a can. This particular day, it was priced at .49 a can. However that was the regular can that contains sodium. They also had Libby's greens beans with no sodium. It was priced at a $1.49 per can, a whole dollar more for one without the sodium.
While at the store, a number of people were popping a dollar each for Powerball lottery tickets. The odds of winning the jackpot is multi-million to one. Now think about it, if people were willing to dish out money for those kind of odds, think of the people in the 'stock market' willing to buy call and put options way out of the money and pay a preimum for high odd risks.
