Baytex Energy Higher in TSX, U.S. Despite Dip in Q2 Profit

Baytex Energy (BTE.TO) was higher at $47.07 by nearly 2% on the Toronto Stock Exchange and was also posting gains in the United States at US$47.43 despite announcing that it had lower profit for the second quarter.

The company said it had $106.9 million, or 90 cents per share, compared to $157.4 million, or $1.38 per share, during the second quarter of 2010. Sales were $336.9 million, compared to $241.6 million a year earlier.
