Barrick Gold Edges Higher in TSX, U.S. As Reviews Zambian Clearance for Equinox Acquisition

Barrick Gold Corporation (ABX.TO) shares were slightly higher at $46.40 by about 16 cents on the Toronto Stock Exchange and were up by 26 cents at US$47.43 in the United States after announcing that the Zambian Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a conditional authorization for Barrick's proposed acquisition of Equinox Minerals Limited (EQN.TO).

The company said that discussions with the CCPC relating to modifying the terms of its conditional authorization are ongoing.
